Public Notices

We are looking for interested citizens to be part of a Planning Commission and also an Appeals Board. The Planning Commission consists of 5 members and the Appeals Board consists of 3 members. Members must live within city limits and no further than 3 miles outside of Yates Center or own a property in the City of Yates Center. This will be a non-paid position. Please contact city hall (620-625-2118) or any council member if interested.

Bid Notice

The City of Yates Center is soliciting bids to replace approximately 2,000 sq ft of lap siding behind City Hall with 1” x 4” nailers and 29-gauge metal. After removing old siding, any deteriorated wall studs and insulation must be replaced. Approximately 150’ of fascia board must be replaced and covered with Trim Coil. One 36” walk-in door and one existing overhead 11’6” X 10” door must be replaced, the latter with an insulated door. The existing 16” X 14” sliding door must be raised. The old sliding doors on the 50” addition must be removed and treated wood posts inserted to make an open-face shed. Due to the project's complexity, prospective bidders are encouraged to call City Hall and schedule a time to meet with the Street Department Supervisor and discuss the particulars of the project. The project must be completed no later than November 1, 2024.

Sealed bids must be returned to City Hall on or before April 12^th, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. Bids must be returned by mail or hand-delivered. No email bids may be accepted. The City Council reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.

Bid Notices

The City of Yates Center is compiling a list of contractors interested in bidding on the cleanup of properties in violation of city codes. 1,000,000 liability insurance and work comp coverage required.
